Appointments Made in 10 Districts and 95 Blocks
With an eye on the upcoming elections, the Punjab Congress has taken a significant step toward strengthening its organizational structure within the state. The party is continuously expanding its organizational framework to reinforce its grassroots presence at the state level. Under the leadership of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, the party has announced the names of executive committees for 10 districts and presidents for 95 blocks. Prior to this, the Congress had already announced the presidents for 8 districts, making it evident that the party is systematically activating and empowering its organization across the entire state in a phased manner.
Under the latest announcement, new executive committees have been constituted in key districts such as Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar Rural, Bathinda Urban, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Ropar, and Khanna. A strategic approach has been adopted to further energize the organization at the local level in these districts by assigning responsibilities to party office-bearers.
Additionally, the names of 95 block presidents—out of a total of 199 blocks—have also been declared. Notably, this list includes 15 block presidents from the Ludhiana district, which plays a pivotal role in state politics. The party leadership firmly believes that a robust organization at the block level serves as the foundation for a strong performance in elections.
According to sources, the Congress’s primary focus this time is on strengthening the organization right down to the booth level, with the aim of mobilizing party workers and establishing direct contact with voters. The party is expected to make further announcements regarding the remaining districts and blocks in the coming days. Currently, this strategy by the Congress is being viewed as a crucial move in the context of the upcoming elections, and it has already generated a fresh wave of political activity within Punjab.
