Incidents of fire breaking out at two separate locations within the city have been reported. According to reports, a chaotic atmosphere prevailed in Jalandhar last night following two distinct fire incidents at different sites. The first incident occurred at a sports shop in the Mai Hira Gate area, while the second fire broke out at a factory located in the Leather Complex. Upon receiving news of the fire at Mai Hira Gate, locals immediately alerted the shop owner. As the shop was locked, people attempted to gain entry by breaking the lock; after a strenuous effort, they managed to bring the fire largely under control. The fire brigade team subsequently arrived at the scene, but by then, the fire had already been contained.
According to a fire brigade official, the report regarding this incident was received around 10:25 PM. Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit was the cause of the fire. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in this mishap. Shortly thereafter, reports emerged of a fire at a factory situated in the Leather Complex. Upon receiving the alert, fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene and, through swift action, successfully brought the fire under control. Preliminary inquiries indicate that a short circuit is believed to be the cause of both incidents. However, in both cases, timely intervention averted major damage, and no casualties have been reported.
