A case of assault and forced abduction—in which a young man was beaten and forcibly bundled into a car—has come to light in the Chitti Mor area, falling under the jurisdiction of the Lambra Police Station. The incident was revealed after CCTV footage surfaced, prompting the police to initiate action.
According to reports, a young man and a woman were standing by the roadside near Chitti Mor. At that moment, a Pajero SUV pulled up and stopped; it was occupied by four to five young men. It is alleged that the assailants were armed with sharp-edged weapons; they attacked the young man present at the scene, forcibly dragged him into their vehicle, and fled the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the accused continued to assault the victim even as they drove him away.
Upon receiving information regarding the incident, the police immediately launched an investigation and registered a case against unidentified accused persons under various sections of the law. During the course of the investigation, the police conducted a raid in Moga on Tuesday morning and arrested one of the accused, who has been identified as Sikandar.
The police are now interrogating the arrested accused and are actively searching for the remaining suspects. Preliminary investigations suggest that a financial dispute or monetary transaction may be the motive behind this incident; however, the police have not yet officially confirmed this, and the investigation remains ongoing.
