In a display of bravery that shattered the morale of criminals in the metropolis, a B.Pharmacy student performed such a daring feat that it left the robbers sweating in panic. The incident took place at the RP Building Material shop located on 33 Feet Road, where, around 8:30 PM on Sunday night, three bike-borne miscreants stormed in with the intent to rob. Manish, the son of shopkeeper Ram Nath Gupta, assists with shop duties alongside his studies; at the time of the incident, he was busy on a phone call regarding a payment from a client. Meanwhile, two masked miscreants—looming like harbingers of death—entered the shop armed with sharp-edged weapons, while their third accomplice remained outside with the bike engine running. Manish recounted that upon entering, the miscreants intimidated him and attempted to snatch his mobile phone. When he resisted, the robbers resorted to verbal abuse and began forcibly scooping up cash from the counter. According to the visuals captured on CCTV footage, Manish did not panic; instead, acting with presence of mind, he waited for an opportunity to distract the robbers. The moment the robbers grabbed their loot and bolted toward the exit, the courageous Manish lunged after them and, disregarding the risk to his own life, firmly grappled with one of the miscreants. Witnessing Manish’s audacity, the criminals panicked and began struggling desperately to break free. When Manish managed to wrestle one of the robbers to the ground, their third accomplice—waiting outside—began pelting bricks and stones at Manish in an attempt to rescue his friend. Fearing a blow to the head from the bricks, and reeling from the sudden assault, Manish’s grip momentarily loosened; seizing this opportunity, all three miscreants fled the scene on a black Splendor motorcycle. Although Manish successfully saved his mobile phone, the accused managed to escape with the cash stolen from the counter. The victim’s family has now approached the police with the CCTV footage, seeking justice. Manish’s bravery is being widely discussed in the area—he chose to confront the armed assailants rather than surrender before them.
