On Monday morning, a police team arriving from Patna, Bihar, raided the residence of a prominent industrialist located on Jalandhar Road in the city, taking both the industrialist and his wife into custody. As of the latest reports, four FIRs regarding various cases have been registered in Patna against the detained couple.
By the time the latest updates were received, the Patna Police were in the process of securing a transit remand for the detained couple and making arrangements to transport them back to Bihar. According to reports, a seven-member team from the Bihar Police raided the home of industrialist Anil Gupta in the Mansurwal area of the city on Monday morning. During the raid, the team took into custody the accused—identified by the Patna Police as Anil Gupta (son of Sudesh Gupta) and his wife, Sarika Gupta.
Subsequently, the Bihar Police team took the couple to the City Police Station in Kapurthala. After undergoing a medical examination, the arrested couple was produced before a court to seek a transit remand, following which they are to be transported to Bihar. It is reported that Manish Kumar Jha (son of Chet Narayan Jha), a resident of Patna, had filed a complaint with the Patna Police against a total of seven accused—including Anil Gupta, his wife Sarika Gupta, and other family members—leading to the registration of cases under various sections of the law.
In his complaint to the police, the complainant alleged that the accused individuals had illegally utilized his company’s letterhead, employing forged signatures and counterfeit stamps. He further asserted that his company had absolutely no connection to these documents. Acting on these allegations, the Patna Police registered four FIRs against all seven accused individuals on charges of fraud and forgery. Reports suggest that during the police raid, several other individuals present in the house managed to flee the scene.
While the Bihar Police are currently engaged in a thorough investigation into this entire matter, it is anticipated that several more significant arrests may take place in the coming days. Consequently, the Bihar Police are expected to continue conducting a series of raids across the city in the days ahead as they pursue this case. Meanwhile, the accused made various desperate attempts to evade the Bihar Police; however, owing to the force’s tough stance, none of their efforts succeeded.
