A Special Court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has delivered a significant verdict in a five-year-old case, convicting two accused individuals. This case pertains to the hoisting of a Khalistani flag at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Moga.
The court has sentenced both accused to a prison term of 5 years and 6 months. Additionally, a fine of ₹16,000 each has been imposed on them. This verdict is being viewed as a crucial step in cases involving terrorist activities and anti-national acts.
It is alleged in the case that the incident was orchestrated by a network linked to the Khalistani-sympathizing terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. According to investigative agencies, the incident was part of a conspiracy to destabilize the atmosphere within the country. Following the court’s verdict, security agencies have hailed it as a significant legal victory, while investigations into other aspects of the case remain ongoing.
