A sensation spread across the area in Moga after the body of a man was recovered from a vacant plot situated near a railway overbridge. The deceased has been identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of the village Mehme Singh Wala. The police have taken custody of the body, deposited it at the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and have registered a case against unidentified persons to initiate an investigation.
According to reports, Amandeep Singh had left his home on Thursday to campaign in support of the BJP candidate in Ward Number 15. His family members grew anxious when he failed to return home late into the night. After an extensive search yielded no clues regarding his whereabouts, his relatives informed the police. The police subsequently registered a missing person’s report and commenced an investigation.
**Body Found on Bypass**
On Sunday afternoon, the police received information that the body of a man was lying in a vacant plot near the railway overbridge located on the Kotkapura Bypass. Upon receiving this information, police officials rushed to the scene and began their inquiry. The officers who arrived at the spot identified the deceased as Amandeep Singh.
Providing details regarding the case, DSP (City) Jatinder Singh Gill stated that the police are conducting an investigation while keeping every possible angle in mind. He added that, based on preliminary findings, a case has been registered against unidentified individuals, and footage from surveillance cameras installed in the vicinity is currently being scrutinized. The police are striving to ascertain the circumstances under which Amandeep Singh met his death.

The deceased, Amandeep Singh, was the father of two daughters. News of his death plunged the family into deep mourning. His relatives are inconsolable with grief. Residents of the area are also left in shock following the incident and are demanding an impartial investigation into the matter.
With the assistance of the Samaj Sewa Society, the police transported the body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination. Officials state that the exact cause of death will likely be revealed once the post-mortem report is received.
