The Punjab Police have arrested another accused individual in connection with the case involving the installation of solar cameras for espionage purposes along the Pathankot-Jammu National Highway. The arrested accused, Hardeep Singh, is the elder brother of Baljit Singh alias Bittu—a resident of Pathankot who had already been taken into custody. The investigation revealed that after a case was registered against Baljit, Hardeep Singh assisted his brother in destroying evidence.
So far, the police have arrested five individuals in connection with this case. In addition to Baljit and Hardeep, the list of accused includes Ankit Sharma, Baljinder Singh alias Vicky, and Taranpreet Singh.
**Information Related to Intelligence Agencies Shared**
SSP Daljinder Singh Dhillon stated that the accused had installed CCTV cameras at Ankit Sharma’s shop—located along National Highway-44, between Bridge No. 4 and 5 in Sujanpur—with the specific objective of monitoring and spying on the activities and movements of the Army and Paramilitary Forces. The live feed from these cameras was being transmitted to Pakistan-based handlers and intelligence agencies, and information regarding the movements of security forces was being shared. The investigation also revealed that the accused, Baljit Singh, had handed over the mobile phone used for espionage to his elder brother, Hardeep Singh, for safekeeping. Upon learning that a case had been registered, Hardeep Singh assisted Baljit Singh in destroying the evidence. The SSP further informed that Baljinder Singh alias Vicky and Taranpreet Singh were already in contact with agents of the Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI.
