A violent clash has been reported outside a temple in the district. Two groups of youths clashed outside the Hanuman Temple located on Amritsar’s 100-Feet Road. An Activa scooter was also vandalized during the altercation. A video of the incident is rapidly going viral on social media. According to reports, the *Aarti* (prayer ritual) was underway at the Hanuman Temple, and a large number of devotees were present. Suddenly, chaos erupted outside the temple as a violent clash broke out between groups of youths; around a dozen youths arrived and attacked three others.
Preliminary information suggests the fight stemmed from an old rivalry. Eyewitnesses stated that some youths ran inside the temple to save their lives, but the attackers pursued them. It is alleged that the youths were dragged out of the temple and attacked with rods, leaving them seriously injured. Locals have expressed concern over such a violent incident occurring outside a place of worship.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. The police are currently investigating the matter. Baljinder Singh Aulakh, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Division B police station, stated that the investigation is ongoing and full details will be shared with the media soon.
