Changes in the weather have been observed in Punjab over the past few days. Rainfall and hailstorms in several areas have led to a drop in temperature; the maximum temperature has fallen to 8.2°C below normal. However, this period will bring people relief from the heat. Today, light to moderate rain accompanied by cool winds is expected in Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, and Mansa.
Surendra Paul, Director of the Chandigarh Meteorological Centre, stated that from today until June 18, the weather is likely to remain cloudy, with chances of thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected at isolated places in the districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, and Patiala on June 15. The weather is likely to remain mainly dry in Bathinda, Mansa, Muktsar, Fazilka, Faridkot, Moga, Ferozepur, and Tarn Taran. Similarly, light rain is expected at a few places in the districts of Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, Sangrur, Moga, Faridkot, and Ferozepur on June 16.
On June 17, light rain or thundershowers are expected at several places across Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, and Patiala. Subsequently, the weather will turn dry again on June 18, and no weather warnings have been issued for that day.
