After Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC), a major split is now imminent within Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT). Reports suggest that six of the party’s MPs may meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today. Out of the nine Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs, six arrived in Delhi on a chartered flight on Tuesday night.
According to sources, Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has also arrived in Delhi, and a meeting with these MPs could take place at Shrikant Shinde’s residence, followed by a press conference. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MLC Kripal Tumane had claimed that discussions with these MPs had been ongoing for the past month under ‘Operation Tiger’ and were now in the final stage. What did Sanjay Raut say?
Meanwhile, Uddhav faction leader Sanjay Raut posted on X, alleging that these MPs are being offered an advance of ₹15 crore each to switch parties.
He wrote, “It’s all about the money. Maharashtra MPs are being given an advance of ₹15 crore tonight to switch parties. This is shameful.” Earlier, Raut had dismissed reports of MPs switching factions as completely false. What had Uddhav Thackeray said?
Furthermore, Uddhav Thackeray himself had stated that anyone wishing to leave is free to do so happily. He noted that while there was information about a rebellion at the time, he had not pressured anyone. “If someone wants to leave, let them go. There is no point in forcibly stopping anyone. Those who have left Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena will regret it later.”
