A 14-year-old boy named Sushant lost his life in a tragic road accident late Monday night at the Hallomajra light point. The incident occurred while he was returning home on a bicycle with his father after purchasing items from a shop in Hallomajra.
His father was riding a motorcycle ahead, while Sushant was cycling alongside him. Suddenly, a speeding truck that had jumped the red light struck him.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck ran over Sushant. The critically injured teenager succumbed to his injuries right in front of his father. This tragic death of his son has left the family devastated. Allegation of negligence against the driver: Preliminary investigations reveal that the accident was caused by the truck driver’s negligence. It is alleged that the driver ignored the red light and attempted to speed through the intersection, resulting in the collision with Sushant. After the accident, the driver fled the scene with the truck. Upon receiving the information, the police set up checkpoints in the surrounding areas and, shortly thereafter, arrested the accused driver in Dera Bassi.
The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and have registered a case against the accused driver under relevant sections, including charges of negligent driving and causing death.
Additionally, footage from CCTV cameras installed near the accident site is being examined to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
