In Ludhiana, a coconut vendor named Sunil was critically injured after being struck by a speeding Thar SUV driven by a gangster during an operation by the Faridkot Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF). Following the incident, his family took him to Moradabad for treatment and have currently declined to initiate legal proceedings with the Ludhiana police.
Consequently, the Daresi police station has merely recorded the incident in the Daily Diary Register (DDR). The police stated that further action would be taken based on the family’s statement should a formal complaint be filed in the future. **Youth Dragged After Collision**
The incident occurred last Saturday. A team from the Faridkot AGTF had arrived in Ludhiana in search of gangster Gurpreet Singh, who was wanted in a serious case. Three vehicles belonging to the team were pursuing Gurpreet’s Thar. In the Sundar Nagar area, the gangster accelerated the Thar to evade a police dragnet. While attempting to flee near the Buddha Dariya (Buddha Nullah), the speeding Thar collided with Sunil, who ran a coconut water cart by the roadside. CCTV footage clearly shows the vehicle first striking the young man and then dragging him along.
Sunil sustained severe injuries in the accident. The AGTF team intercepted and surrounded the Thar during the chase, apprehending gangster Gurpreet Singh. Reports indicated that some of his associates were also detained during the operation. **Injuries to Legs and Shoulder**
Following the accident, the injured Sunil was admitted to a hospital in Ludhiana for treatment. Daresi Police Station SHO Jaswinder Singh stated that a police team arrived at the scene after receiving information from the hospital. The injured man had sustained injuries to both legs and his shoulder. Later, his family took him to Moradabad for further treatment. According to the SHO, the injured person’s family members refused to give a statement to the police or initiate any legal action. Consequently, the police have currently recorded an entry in the daily diary. Should the injured person or their family seek action in the future, a case will be registered based on their statement.
