Teachers Empowering Girls in Ayodhya to be Honored with ₹3 Lakh Award

Date:

The efforts and innovative work of a teacher excelling in the field of girls’ education and empowerment will now gain recognition and be honored.

This initiative, launched by a private organization, has received government approval; instructions have been issued at the District Inspector of Schools level, and applications are now being invited. The department has released a specific link for this purpose. This initiative will promote women’s empowerment and the protection of girls, enabling them to realize their dreams and aspirations.

Teachers working in this area will be presented with the ‘Girls’ Education Award’ under the ‘Seekho-Sikhao Awards’ (Learn and Teach Awards) program. Applications for the award are open until September 20.

For the Girls’ Education Award, teachers employed in government inter-colleges will be selected based on their outstanding, effective, and exemplary work specifically in the fields of girls’ education and empowerment.

A prize of ₹3 lakh will be awarded to the selected teacher from the state. Teachers will be evaluated based on criteria such as girls’ enrollment, regular attendance, continuity of education, encouragement for higher education, and the creation of an educational environment conducive to self-reliance. The ‘Seekho-Sikhao Foundation’ is the organization behind this initiative. District Inspector of Schools Dr. Pawan Kumar Tiwari stated that this award will be presented at the state level. Applications are currently open; a single female teacher will be honored at a state-level event after an evaluation of the work done by applicants from all districts. He added that there are five categories under this award scheme, one of which is a significant award for teachers.
