An incident involving inmates scuffling with and behaving rudely towards personnel on duty in the High-Security Zone-A of Kapurthala Central Jail has come to light. Acting on a complaint filed by the jail administration, the Kotwali police have registered a case against six inmates for obstructing official duty.
Assistant Superintendent Dheeraj Kumar reported the incident, stating that certain inmates engaged in a scuffle and an argument with CRPF personnel deployed in High-Security Zone-A, thereby disrupting their duties. Subsequently, the jail administration informed the Kotwali police to initiate legal action. A case has been registered against the following inmates: Sandeep Singh alias Bhatti (resident of Moga), Mandeep Kumar alias Mongi (resident of SBS Nagar), Tejvir Singh alias Sahab, son of Surinder Singh (resident of Sharifpura, Amritsar), Paramjit Singh alias Dharma (resident of Raikot, Ludhiana), Ankit Bhuri (resident of Ludhiana), and Gurdhyan Singh alias Bhola (resident of Sangrur). The Kotwali police have registered a case against all these individuals under various sections based on the Assistant Superintendent’s complaint and have launched an investigation. The jail administration has stated that indiscipline within the prison will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
