The party has mobilized all its resources for the protest scheduled to take place in Chandigarh on Tuesday under the leadership of the new Punjab Congress in-charge, Sachin Pilot. Former Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi has clarified via his social media handle that he will participate in the protest. He has also appealed to Congress workers and supporters to attend the demonstration in large numbers.
On Tuesday at 11:00 AM, the Congress will take out a march from the Punjab Congress office in Sector-15 towards the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.
The Congress is demanding Cheema’s dismissal from the cabinet and his immediate arrest in connection with the death of Gulzar Singh. The party alleges that Gulzar Singh had questioned the minister regarding the rising drug menace in Punjab, after which he faced mental pressure and harassment.
