Rival factions to share the stage! Punjab Congress protest; Channi says he will participate under Sachin Pilot’s leadership

The party has mobilized all its resources for the protest scheduled to take place in Chandigarh on Tuesday under the leadership of the new Punjab Congress in-charge, Sachin Pilot. Former Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi has clarified via his social media handle that he will participate in the protest. He has also appealed to Congress workers and supporters to attend the demonstration in large numbers.

On Tuesday at 11:00 AM, the Congress will take out a march from the Punjab Congress office in Sector-15 towards the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.

The Congress is demanding Cheema’s dismissal from the cabinet and his immediate arrest in connection with the death of Gulzar Singh. The party alleges that Gulzar Singh had questioned the minister regarding the rising drug menace in Punjab, after which he faced mental pressure and harassment. Punjab Congress leaders to appear together. A significant political spectacle is expected to unfold during this protest. Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring will be seen sharing the same stage after a long time. Additionally, several senior Congress leaders—including the new in-charge Sachin Pilot, Partap Singh Bajwa, and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa—will participate in the protest. Pilot has also shared details of the protest on social media and urged Congress workers to join in. In the context of Punjab politics, this protest is being viewed as a major show of strength for the Congress ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
