BJP District Vice President Vinod Kali passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment at DMC Ludhiana. He had been involved in a road accident near the village of Kotdharmu on Wednesday while returning in a vehicle from a BJP ‘drug-free’ rally held in the Jhuneer town area of the district.
It is worth noting that several BJP members were in the vehicle when the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Arshdeep Singh, a resident of Ramdittewala village, died on the spot. Among the five others injured, District Vice President Vinod Kali was referred from the Civil Hospital to DMC Ludhiana. Additionally, Sunil Kumar, Bhim Sen, Mohit Kumar, and Navdeep Singh (also a resident of Ramdittewala) were referred to AIIMS Bathinda for treatment. Vinod Kali’s last rites will be performed on Monday at the local Rambagh.
Daughter’s wedding took place earlier this month
Vinod Kali had celebrated his daughter’s wedding on September 13. He is survived by his wife, son, elder brother, sister, and parents. The 54-year-old leader had been associated with the BJP for a long time. Throughout his tenure—serving as Mandal President, Vice Chairman of the Market Committee, and District Vice President—he dedicated himself to the party with selflessness and honesty.
