A shocking incident has come to light from Maharashtra’s Dhule district, where a pregnant woman was assaulted during a dispute. She lost consciousness during the attack; the accused, believing she had died, transported her body by car to a secluded hilly area and set it ablaze to destroy evidence.
Following an investigation involving approximately 11 hours of CCTV footage and technical analysis, the police have solved this heinous murder case. Four accused have been arrested, while two others remain at large, and a search for them is underway.
Through footage and technical analysis, the police traced the suspect vehicle to the Saptasur Cultural and Art Centre in the Jamkhed area of Ahilyanagar district.
The investigation revealed that the victim, 31-year-old pregnant woman Pinky Hanumant Katka, was attacked following an internal dispute at the cultural centre near Beed district. Believing she had died after losing consciousness during the assault, the accused conspired to dispose of the body. Mistaking the unconscious woman for dead, they drove her 275 kilometers away to a desolate hilly region near the Dhule-Solapur Highway to destroy evidence. There, they doused her with petrol and set her on fire.
