A dispute broke out between two women and an auto-rickshaw driver in Sector 3 of HSR Layout, Bengaluru. The altercation escalated into a physical scuffle involving both parties. Bystanders recorded a video of the incident, which is now going viral on social media.
As the situation between the auto driver and the women spiraled out of control, another woman intervened and put a stop to the fight. The incident took place on Monday afternoon. Following the viral spread of the video, people demanded immediate police action. The auto driver alleged that the women were intoxicated.
According to the HSR Layout police, they contacted the women immediately after seeing the video and asked them to file a formal complaint. However, a senior officer stated that the women declined to come forward immediately, requesting a day or two to decide. The police also traced the auto driver; he told them that the women had hired his auto and a dispute arose regarding the fare.
The auto driver further alleged that the women were under the influence of alcohol, verbally abused him, and refused to pay the fare. He claimed that the women then attacked him, and he retaliated.
An official stated regarding the matter, “We will take necessary action once the women file a formal complaint.”
