Aprilia India is continuously working to expand its portfolio, which includes several impressive products. One such lineup is the SXR maxi-scooter family, which has now been updated with a new name and the ‘hp-e’ engine family. This maxi-scooter lineup has been rebranded as the Aprilia SXR GT and has undergone a comprehensive update.
Engine Options and Bookings
This maxi-scooter lineup offers both 125 hp-e and 175 hp-e engine options. Bookings for the updated Aprilia SXR GT 175 have already commenced, and the official launch is expected soon.
Design and Aesthetics
After updating its SR sporty scooter lineup with the new hp-3 engine, Aprilia has now shifted its focus to the maxi-scooter range. The SXR GT models—comprising the SXR GT 175 and SXR GT 125—feature revised designs, bold graphics, and striking liveries. While the overall design and shape of the Aprilia SXR GT remain similar to the previous model, its road presence has been significantly enhanced thanks to the use of 14-inch wheels.
Instrument Cluster and Features
The top-end Aprilia SXR GT 175 hp-e will come equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. This cluster will support turn-by-turn navigation and various connected features via a smartphone app. Meanwhile, the SXR GT 125 features a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster. The Aprilia SXR GT 175 is powered by a 174.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with a 3V head, generating 13.08bhp of power and 14.14Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the SXR GT 125 houses a 124.5cc air-cooled engine with a 3V head, producing 10.46bhp of power and 10.4Nm of torque. Both models come equipped with RSU front forks, a 140mm rear drum brake, and a 220mm front disc brake; however, only the SXR GT 175 gets single-channel ABS.
Launch and Price
The scooter is yet to be launched. The SXR GT 175 will be available in three colors—Metallic Blue, Matte Black, and Matte Green—while the SXR GT 125 will come in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro, and Glossy White color options.
