On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Narendra Mohan Ji—a writer and the former Editor-in-Chief of *Dainik Jagran*—Budhinath Mishra was honored with the ‘Dainik Jagran Sahitya Srijan Samman’.
As part of this honor, the selected writer, Budhinath Mishra, was presented with a memento along with a cash award of ₹11 lakh.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remarked that Narendra Mohan Ji prioritized the values and ideals of journalism above everything else. He noted that *Dainik Jagran* continues to move forward today while upholding the values championed by Narendra Ji.
He recalled that during the Emergency, Narendra Mohan Ji published an editorial titled “New Democracy? Censorship Imposed—Stay Silent!” but left the column itself blank. That empty space served as a symbol of protest, raising a voice against the restrictions imposed on freedom of expression.
Rajnath Singh added that Narendra Mohan Ji was not only a journalist but also a writer.
