Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s fast unto death in Khanauri continued for the 50th day on Tuesday. Doctors say that his condition is deteriorating every moment. Most of the organs of the body have reached the stage of stopping working.
Meanwhile, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) non-political has announced that 111 more farmers will start a fast unto death in Khanauri from January 15. In this way, now not one but 112 ‘Dallewals’ will fast unto death here.
111 more farmers will fast unto death from today
On Wednesday at 2 pm, a group of 111 farmers wearing black robes will start a peaceful fast unto death near the police barricading on the Haryana border. Farmer leaders have said that the fast unto death will continue till the demands are met.
In Khanauri, Sher-e-Punjab Kisan Union’s provincial head Gurinder Singh Bhaggu and farmer leader Inderjit Singh Kotbudha said in a press conference that Dallewal has put his life at stake to get 13 demands including the MSP guarantee law accepted.
Now Dallewal’s body is unable to digest even water
Now Dallewal will not sacrifice alone, but farmers will also fast unto death. In the first group, near the barricading, senior leader of the Morcha Abhimanyu Kohad said that Dallewal has not been drinking even water for the last 48 hours. Doctors say that his body is now unable to digest even water. On the other hand, the central government is silent on the demands of the farmers.
When some BJP leaders called MSP anti-farmer, Kohad challenged them for an open debate on this subject. On Tuesday, a group of farmers from Kaithal district of Haryana also reached Khanauri. The entire executive of Haryana Vyapar Mandal, led by Bajrang Das Garg, reached the front to support Dallewal.
Hearing in the Supreme Court: Hearing on Dallewal’s hunger strike is scheduled in the Supreme Court today, Wednesday. In the last hearing, the Punjab government had said that the committee formed by the Supreme Court has reached Khanauri to meet Dallewal.
50 days of Dallewal’s hunger strike
Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike continued on the 50th day on Tuesday at the Khanauri border. During the 50-day hunger strike, representatives of the Punjab government, political faces, representatives of various political parties and workers of organizations have been reaching Dallewal several times to know about his health.
The central representative, including DGP Punjab, and the Supreme Court committee have also met, but everyone has been appealing to Dallewal to end the hunger strike or take medical treatment. Dallewal is adamant on his hunger strike regarding his demands. During the 50 day fast, SKM has also decided to join the movement along with SKM (non-political) and KMM.
