PM Modi expressed happiness
The Prime Minister will dedicate INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Vagsheer warships to the country at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on Wednesday. PM Modi wrote in an ex-post, “January 15 is going to be a special day as far as our naval capabilities are concerned.” If we talk about these state-of-the-art combat ships to be deployed in the sea, then INS Surat is the fourth and last ship of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project. It is one of the largest and most modern destroyers in the world. 75 percent indigenous material has been used in it.
INS Nilgiri is the first ship of the warship project
Equipped with state-of-the-art sensor packages linked to weapons, this ship will strengthen the Navy with advanced network-centric capabilities. INS Nilgiri is the first ship of the P17A warship project. It has been designed by the Warship Design Bureau of the Indian Navy, which is equipped with better features of sea security, reconnaissance and self-defense.
It represents the next generation of indigenous warships. At the same time, INS Vagsheer is the sixth and final submarine under the P75 Scorpene project. It represents India’s growing expertise in submarine construction. It has been built in collaboration with France’s Naval Group.
What is the specialty of ‘INS Vagsheer’
Vagsheer is capable of multi-faceted missions such as anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, intelligence gathering, area surveillance etc. Vagsheer is a fish found in the Indian Ocean. Vagsheer is capable of attacking the enemy using excellent stealth features such as advanced acoustic absorption technology, low radiation noise level, hydro-dynamic optimized shape and precision guided weapons.
INS Surat is the fourth warship of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project. It is one of the largest and best destroyers in the world. 75 percent indigenous material has been used in it.
INS Nilgiri is the first warship of the 17A Stealth Frigate Project. It has been designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau. It has been inducted into the Navy with the capability to stay in the sea for a long time and stealth.
