The problems of sacked DSP Gursher Singh in the case of gangster Lawrence’s interview in police custody have increased. He has got a setback from the Mohali District Court. The court has rejected the bail plea filed by him in the corruption case.
In such a situation, now he will have to seek refuge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court to avoid jail. Senior officials from Punjab Police appeared in the court today. Also, the record related to the investigation of the case has been presented in the court.
2 arguments were given in the petition
In the petition, Gursher Singh Sidhu had mainly given two arguments. He said that the FIR registered against him in the State Crime Police Station of Mohali is wrong. The complaint of Baljinder Singh alias Tahla was investigated by the then SSP of Mohali, Sandeep Garg.
Who found the complaint to be false. However, later the FIR was filed on the basis of investigation done by the SP of Ropar. Who is junior to SSP Garg. The second argument in the petition is that he has also been made a scapegoat in the Lawrence Bishnoi interview controversy.
This is how the police case was registered
An FIR has been registered against dismissed DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu at the State Crime Police Station, Mohali under serious charges. In FIR number 33, a case has been registered against Sandhu under sections 417, 465, 467, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code and section 13/2 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The complaint alleges that during his tenure as DSP, Sandhu targeted innocent people and got them to settle by filing fake complaints. In this case, Baljinder Singh alias Tala, expressing fear of danger to his life, filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in which it was alleged that DSP Sandhu got him to register complaints and then got the victims to settle and collected money.
The Vigilance Department is also investigating the case separately, and questions are also being raised on the role of officers as to how these complaints kept getting marked to DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu and how they were filed in the name of settlement.
