Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has made a big statement about drug abuse. He says that Pakistan cannot fight us directly, so it has found the way of drug abuse. Efforts are being made to weaken our youth, so that an atmosphere of rebellion is created here. He said this while talking to the media at Punjab University today (24 January). National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Kishor Rahatkar was also present in this program.
The Governor said that earlier big drones used to come from Pakistan, which were shot down. But now small drones are being sent from Pakistan. However, anti-drone systems are being installed. Last time the Home Minister had given eight anti-drone systems, now their number has been increased to 26. But drug abuse has not ended 100 percent yet.
Praised the law and order of Punjab
The Governor has praised Punjab in the matter of law and order. He said that the narcotics conviction percentage in Punjab is 80 to 85 percent, while in Rajasthan it is only 23 to 28 percent. The conviction percentage in Punjab is good. The amount of drugs being caught in the state is also high.
The Governor said that the National Commission for Women and Punjab University have started a campaign against drugs in Punjab. Women suffer the most due to drugs. Women can do more effective work against drugs. There is a greater possibility of success against drugs with the efforts of women.
Women face the most problems due to drugs
On this occasion, National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijay Kishor Rahatkar said that Punjab is the land of heroes and saints. The future of the youth in Punjab is getting ruined due to drugs. In such a situation, now some programs will be organized against drugs. Due to drugs, the women of the family face the most problems which are mental, financial as well as physical.
De-addiction programs in eight districts
In collaboration with Punjab University, we are starting an awareness campaign against drugs in Punjab. In the first phase, it has been started in eight districts along the border. After this, programs will be organized in other districts. Seminars will be organized with all sections of the society. Separate programs will be organized for the youth who have fallen prey to drugs and different types of programs will be organized to prevent the youth from going towards drugs. Programs will also be organized for rehabilitation.
