On this occasion, describing the farmer of Punjab as the food provider of the country, he said that it is unfortunate that the farmers of the state have to go on strike, sit on dharna to get their various issues resolved. Now even fast unto death has to be kept.
He said that in such a situation, the central government should call the farmers and talk to them and accept their demands. The CM said that the tractors, which are important for Punjab’s agriculture, should be directed towards the fields instead of Delhi.
