An initiative has been started to connect the agriculture sector with digital technology in Haryana. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana announced the creation of a digital cell for agricultural data at the National Workshop on ‘Agricultural Statistics-2025’ held in Panchkula.
Will analyze important data
More than 60 percent of the population in the state is dependent on agriculture. This digital cell will analyze crop production, employment opportunities and other important data related to agriculture. The minister believes that by paying special attention to the agricultural sector, the problem of unemployment in the state can be reduced to a great extent.
Will help in improving agricultural policies
Shyam Singh Rana said that this digital cell will play an important role in assessing the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, agricultural income and employment opportunities. Also, it will help in improving future agricultural policies.
He directed the officials to motivate the farmers not only to increase production but also to adopt organic and natural farming. So that the fertility of the land remains and people can get healthy food.
Government schemes for farmers
The minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, many schemes are being run in the interest of farmers. These include schemes like “Meri Fasal-Mera Byora”, direct sowing of paddy, natural farming, crop residue management, Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Soil Health Card.
Played an important role in the Green Revolution
Farmers are getting direct benefits from these schemes. Participation of experts in the workshop Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture Department Raja Shekhar Vundru said that farming is being done on about 90 lakh acres of land in Haryana and the state has played an important role in the Green Revolution.
