These elections in Delhi will be important for BJP
BJP’s victory in Delhi elections has special significance for them. AAP’s Atishi won from Kalkaji constituency, while former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia lost in Jangpura. Most exit polls had predicted a victory for the BJP and its allies. The Delhi assembly elections saw a voter turnout of 60.54 per cent in the first phase on February 5.
The BJP seems to be benefiting from issues such as pollution in the Yamuna river, liquor policy cases against Kejriwal and Sisodia and the huge amount spent on the renovation of Kejriwal’s chief ministerial residence during the Covid-19 pandemic during the election campaign.
