Three years ago, on January 5, 2022, just before the assembly elections, there was a lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Punjab. Farmers were accused in the case. After which Section 307 was imposed on the farmers in the case. The farmers have now met the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Kultar Singh Sandhwan and raised the matter.
The farmers say that the speaker has assured that no action will be taken against the farmers. On the other hand, the hunger strike of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal at Khanauri border has entered the 84th day.

The farmers have decided to celebrate the anniversary of young farmer Shubkaran Singh, who was martyred in the farmers’ movement, on February 21 before the sixth round of meeting with the central government on February 22.
During this, a meeting will be held in Shubkaran’s village Balloh Bathinda. Apart from this, meetings will also be held on that day at Shambhu-Khanauri and Ratanpur border. In this, tribute will be paid to all the martyrs.
At the same time, the farmers have held a meeting and formulated a strategy for the program to be held in Bathinda. The padyatra yatra will be started from Sirsa in Haryana on 19 February, which will conclude in Bathinda on 21 February.
Farmers came to know in January
Actually, in January, the Ferozepur court had issued an arrest warrant for 25 farmers of Ferozepur in the PM’s security lapse case. In which the section of attempt to murder has also been added.
This came to light when summons were issued to the farmers in this regard. Which revealed that in the 3-year-old security lapse case of January 5, 2022, the police has now also added sections 307, 353, 341, 186, 149 of IPC and section 8-B of National Highway Act. Earlier, the case was registered under section 283 for blocking the public road. On January 22, the farmers were summoned to the court.
According to the police, an FIR was first registered in this case on January 6, 2022 under section 283 (obstructing public road) of IPC, which is a bailable offence. However, a three-member SIT of officials was formed after BJP leaders objected to the weak FIR.
Based on the investigation, more serious sections have now been added to the FIR, including sections 307 (attempt to murder), 353 (assault on public servant), 341 (wrongful restraint), 186 (obstructing discharge of duty), 149 (unlawful assembly) and section 8-B of the National Highways Act.
This is how the security lapse happened
On the day of the security lapse, the Prime Minister was to address a rally in Ferozepur. Apart from this, he was also to visit the Hussainiwala Memorial to pay tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Earlier he had to go by helicopter, but due to bad weather he was taken by road.
But, farmers blocked the way. After which the PM’s convoy stopped at Pyareana flyover in Ferozepur for about 20 minutes. After which the PM returned and went to Delhi. Returning to Bathinda, Modi told the airport officials- “Thank you to your Chief Minister that I could reach Bathinda airport alive.
According to police sources, the farmers were not appearing in the court during the hearing, due to which on January 22, the court ordered to arrest them and present them in the court. Also, in this case, SP (Detective) Randhir Kumar said that the investigation of the case is still going on.
