Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of having hatred towards Punjab because they feel that the people of Punjab do not make them win elections.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has withdrawn only one decision so far. That is the decision to repeal the three agricultural laws, which had to be withdrawn due to the protest of the farmers of Punjab. Perhaps this hatred is sitting in his mind. Due to hatred, the plane of Indians deported from America was also landed in Amritsar.
Cursed BJP-Congress fiercely
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was speaking on the proposal against the draft of the new Mandikaran policy. However, instead of talking about the Mandikaran policy, he spent more time cursing the leaders of the Center and the opposition party of Punjab, Congress.
Mann said that sometimes on the pretext of education policy, sometimes on the pretext of agriculture and sometimes on the pretext of electricity, the central government is usurping the rights of the states. Giving the example of Rs 8,000 crore of Rural Development Fund withheld, Mann said, when we came in 2022, the central government had withheld this fund.
He said that when we inquired, the then Union Food and Supplies Minister Piyush Goyal told us that the previous government had misused it. We also passed the amended bill in the assembly. Then he said that you are taking more tax. We will give only two percent. He said that we are not begging but this is our right.
Also responded to Bajwa’s allegations
Mann said that we have filed a case in the Supreme Court regarding RDF. Responding to the allegation of Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa of hiring a weak lawyer to fight this case, he said that one after the other great lawyers have been hired. Not like the old government when the AG sent three or four of his disciples.
Also gave a statement on the landing of American plane in Amritsar
The Chief Minister said that the BJP leaves no stone unturned to defame Punjab. Referring to the recent landing of ships deported from America in Amritsar and bringing the youth in chains and shackles, Mann said, these ships have been landed in Amritsar without any reason only to tarnish the image of Punjab.
He said that when a ship was brought to give political asylum to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, it was landed at Hindon. These ships could also have been landed at Hindon or Ahmedabad.
He said that after winning the elections of Haryana and the country, the BJP is thinking that the opposition does not matter to it. It is true that sometimes conflicts do not convert into votes but the government should understand the opposition of the people.
The CM reached the House for a short time due to infection in the eye
The Chief Minister came to the House for a short time on Tuesday in the two-day session due to infection in his eye. He also launched a sharp verbal attack on the opposition party Congress. He said, every day they say that 32 MLAs are in touch with me.
He said that sometimes they say that Bhagwant Mann will step down from the post of Chief Minister in six months. First look inside your own self, Delhi has got zero seats for the third time. Still they are celebrating. If they had worked in Punjab, people would not have needed to elect us.
About Akali Dal, he said that it is nowhere left now. The Chief Minister said that on the contrary, the state government has created a new history by buying Goindwal Power Plant from private company GVK Power.
He said that due to closure of toll plaza, the common people of Punjab are saving Rs 63 lakh daily. The government is constantly making efforts to promote the use of canal water in irrigation to save groundwater. Special attention is being given to health, education, electricity, employment and infrastructure development.
Taunt on Bajwa, show by uniting your MLAs
Attacking Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that instead of dreaming of getting the support of ruling AAP MLAs, Congress should focus on keeping its party united.
He said that the talk of being in touch with AAP MLAs is just a ploy by Bajwa to grab headlines in the media. He quipped that even the seven Congress MLAs in the current assembly cannot work together.
