Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Sanjeev Arora as its candidate for Ludhiana West by-election. Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA from Ludhiana West constituency Gurpreet Gogi Bassi passed away in January. MLA Gogi was a person who lived a fearless life.
After getting the ticket, Sanjeev Arora said that I am grateful to the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party for showing faith in me and giving me the opportunity to contest the Ludhiana West by-election. Being deeply connected to my hometown, I hope to move forward with commitment and honesty to serve my people.
Became Rajya Sabha MP in 2022
Ludhiana’s big businessman Sanjeev Arora got the Rajya Sabha ticket from AAP in March 2022. Sanjeev Arora has nothing to do with politics. His family is from Ludhiana. He also has a house in Gurugram. Arora is a real estate businessman, apart from this he has a big garment business in Gurugram. Sanjeev Arora became the third Rajya Sabha member from Ludhiana. Earlier, Satpal Mittal and Lala Lajpat Rai have represented the Rajya Sabha from BJP. Now AAP has fielded Arora as its candidate in the by-election.
Arora is a big export businessman
58-year-old Sanjeev Arora has been in business since 1986. He has run a successful export house by the name of Ritesh Industries Limited. He has a big export business, started work by opening his export office in Virginia, USA. Since 2006, he diversified into real estate by changing the name of the company to Ritesh Properties and Industries Limited. He has developed a state-of-the-art industrial park in Ludhiana. About 70 industries are already working in this project.
In the year 2019, he entered the ferrous metal business in the name and style of Tenron Limited by tying up with Suzuki Motors Gujarat Plant under the Make in India scheme. Currently the company is growing at a CAGR of more than 50 percent for the last 3 years. Its estimated turnover is Rs 700 crore in FY 22-23. Apart from this, under his leadership a women’s clothing brand has been launched under the company named ‘Femela’, named Femela Fashion Limited.
