The Kisan Andolan-2.0, which has been going on for a year on the Shambhu and Khanauri border of Punjab-Haryana, is likely to intensify further today (27 February). Today, the leaders of Shambhu and Khanauri border are going to hold a unity meeting with the leaders of the United Kisan Morcha in Chandigarh. The hunger strike of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has entered the 94th day.
But his health is not good right now. He has a high fever of 103.6 degrees. Water bandages are being kept on his head continuously. On the other hand, after his urine report came out to be ketone positive, now the uric acid report has also not come out well. Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad said that Jagjit Singh Dallewal ji’s health deteriorated more at around 12 o’clock at night.
He started shivering due to high fever and extreme cold. Due to the tireless efforts of the team of doctors present on the spot, the situation has become normal in 2 hours. Farmer leaders have appealed to the people to reach the front in maximum numbers. So that this struggle can be made successful.
Women Farmers’ Mahapanchayat will be held on three borders
After Dallewal’s health deteriorated, the leaders of the United Kisan Morcha held a meeting in Khanauri. Also, a strategy has been made on how to take this struggle forward. At the same time, a meeting of both the parties is going to be held before the meeting with the Chandigarh United Kisan Morcha today.
However, the 7th round of meeting with the central government is to be held in Chandigarh on March 19. Keeping in mind Dallewal’s health and to strengthen the struggle, the farmers have decided that a women farmer mahapanchayat will be organized on Shambhu, Khanauri and Ratpanur border on March 8.
Ever since farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal is on a fast unto death, he is not eating anything. He is walking on water only. Water is being brought for him by the farmers of Haryana from their fields. He is drinking it and standing firm on the front.
On the other hand, there is a problem in getting medical help. Because his veins are getting blocked. There is swelling in the hands. The farmer leader is also afraid of this thing. However, a team of doctors is constantly monitoring him.
The matter of Dallewal’s health has reached the Supreme Court
Meanwhile, farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal announced a fast unto death by transferring his property in the name of his son, daughter-in-law and grandson. However, before the fast on 26 November 2024, the Punjab Police took him into custody. But, he started the fast there itself. Under pressure from the farmers, the Punjab Police released him on 1 December. Dallewal’s fast is continuing since then.
The matter also reached the Supreme Court. But Dallewal refused to take medical help. There were about 10 hearings in the court on his health. After this, the Center invited him for talks on February 14. Then Dallewal agreed to take medical facilities.
