Air Force fighter jet crashes in Haryana, transport plane crashes in Bengal: Pilots safe in both accidents, Air Force orders investigation


Air Force fighter jet Jaguar crashed near Panchkula in Haryana on Friday at around 3.45 pm due to technical fault. The fighter jet had taken off for training from Ambala Airbase.

During the accident, the pilot ejected safely from the plane. The accident took place near Baldwala village in Morni, Panchkula.

In another incident, an Air Force transport plane crashed after landing in Bagdogra, West Bengal. Its crew is safe. The Russian-origin aircraft, AN-32, is the main transport aircraft of the Air Force.

According to eyewitnesses, the plane first hit the trees, then fell into a ditch in the middle of the forest. As soon as the plane fell, it caught fire. It broke into several pieces. Pieces of the plane were found scattered in the surrounding areas.

The pilot took the plane away from the residential area

The pilot took the plane away from the residential area, then got out safely himself. After which the villagers reached there and helped the pilot by giving him water. A team of Air Force experts has reached the spot to investigate the accident.

Jaguar is a twin-engine aircraft

Jaguar is a twin-engine deep penetration strike aircraft, which has been an important part of the Indian Air Force fleet for decades. This aircraft is known for its ability to strike at very low altitudes. Apart from this, the aircraft is also capable of flying from short runways.

On February 6, the Air Force’s two-seater fighter plane Mirage-2000 crashed near Bahreta Sani village in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. There were two pilots in the plane. Before the accident, both the pilots had ejected themselves. Both are safe.
