Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh has been awarded the Airport Service Quality Award in the 2-5 million passenger category by the Airport Council International (ACI) for better services. This award has been given for the best performance in the Asia Pacific region. For this award, a survey was conducted with 70 thousand passengers from 176 countries of the world. In this, area, greenery, passenger facilities and accessibility of the airport were made the basis.
Won the title continuously for 4 years
Chandigarh Airport CEO Ajay Verma said that the facilities at Chandigarh Airport are being continuously improved, due to which passengers are getting the best experience. The airport has received two major awards in 2018. Then it was awarded ‘Best Airport Size and Region’ and ‘Best Environment and Surroundings’. The airport won this award in 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23. Although it did not get this award in 2023-24, but this time it has got this honor again due to the excellent performance of the airport authority and management.
42 domestic and 2 international flights
Currently 42 domestic and 2 international flights are operating from Chandigarh Airport. Soon the number of domestic flights may exceed 45.
