12 policemen suspended in Patiala: Case of assault on Colonel and his son, dispute was over parking

The police department has taken strict action in the case of brutal assault on an army colonel and his son in Patiala. 12 policemen involved in this incident have been suspended. The entire dispute was over parking.

SSP Nanak Singh said that orders have been given for a departmental inquiry against all the policemen, this inquiry will be completed within 45 days. He said, “We apologize to the army officer for this incident. We have full respect for the army.”

The victim’s family has submitted the entire video and complaint of the incident to the police. The family alleges that the police was initially avoiding taking action.

Husband’s hand broken, son’s head broken

The colonel’s wife told in the complaint given to the police that her husband Pushpinder Singh Bath and son Angad Singh were brutally beaten with sticks, baseball bats and sharp weapons by about 10 policemen including Inspector Harjinder Singh Dhillon, Inspector Harry Boparai and Inspector Roni Singh.

This incident took place near a dhaba near Patiala Rajindra Hospital. During this, her husband suffered serious injuries, and his left hand was broken. Son Angad Singh suffered a deep wound on the head, due to which both were admitted to the hospital at 2:00 pm on March 14.

Everything is clear in CCTV footage, yet police delay

The entire incident is clearly visible in the footage of the incident spot, but despite this, the statement of the husband and son was recorded quite late. Till now no concrete action has been taken by the concerned police station.

The victim alleges that she has been constantly making rounds of Civil Lines, Patiala Police Station, but till now the FIR has not been registered.

Police trying to save the accused?

The colonel’s wife alleges that the police is trying to save the guilty officers. She also said that her family was being threatened to compromise or face serious consequences. When she went to the police station to lodge a complaint, the accused falsely accused her of assault.
