The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of three additional judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court as permanent judges. These include two women judges. The Collegium approved the proposal in a meeting held on Wednesday, March 19.

The Collegium has recommended the following three judges to be appointed as permanent judges:

Justice Sumit Goel

Justice Sudipti Sharma

Justice Kirti Singh

Making Justice Sudipti Sharma and Justice Kirti Singh permanent judges will further strengthen the participation of women.

Appointment will be notified after the President’s approval

Now, after the approval of the Central Government, the official appointment of these judges will be notified with the approval of the President. The Supreme Court Collegium is the apex body that recommends the appointment and promotion of judges in the High Courts across the country.
