Pro-Khalistan slogans raised, glass panes of HRTC buses broken… 2 accused arrested from Mohali in Bhindranwale poster case

A bus going to Hamirpur in Himachal was attacked with sticks on March 18 at around 8:00 pm in Kharar town of Mohali, Punjab.

The police have arrested both the attackers involved in this. The attackers have been identified as Gagandeep Singh resident of Fazilka and Hardeep Singh resident of Ropar, currently resident of Ballomajra.

What is the whole matter?

Both the attackers came in an Alto car. The police have also recovered that Alto car from their possession. This incident took place on Kharar flyover. At the time of this incident, about 25 to 30 passengers were present in the bus. Fortunately, no passenger was injured. Both the attackers had covered their faces with clothes.

DSP Kharar Karan Sandhu said that several police teams were formed for this. With the help of human intelligence and technical support, the police identified and arrested both the accused. The number plate of the car in which the attackers came also had tape on it.

This whole matter started with the administration removing Bhindranwale’s flags from bikes in Himachal Pradesh, which led to protests all over Punjab throughout the day. The protesters stopped many Himachal Roadways buses and put up posters of Bhindranwale on them.

The bus was stopped by gesturing with hands

The bus driver Rajkumar had told that the attackers had stopped the bus by gesturing with their hands. The driver had stopped the bus thinking them to be passengers. As soon as the bus stopped, both the attackers attacked the bus. First the front glass was broken. After that all the glasses of the bus were broken. After the incident, the driver had informed the police about it.

The dispute started from here

Last week, some devotees from Punjab had reached Manikaran in Kullu, Himachal with posters and banners of Bhindranwale. These devotees, who had come in large numbers, had an argument with the Kullu police and the locals. On this, the police confiscated Bhindranwale’s flags on the bikes.

It was argued that this step was taken to maintain law and order and prevent breach of peace. It was said that any kind of provocative symbols cannot be allowed in public places. This step has been taken to maintain peace and security, and not to target any particular community.
