Rohit Kumar, a President Award winner in Chandigarh and a National Youth Award winner who has also been honoured in Russia for his social service, had accused him of being beaten up in the police station. After this, 2 ASIs and 1 constable were suspended. Rohit Kumar said that they should not be suspended but an FIR should be registered against them.
He said that there were not 3 but 4 of them, there was one more who is being tried to be saved. But he will not sit quietly. He will go to court for justice. Let us tell you that after the video of the assault surfaced, the police officers suspended ASI Sewa Singh, ASI Ranjeet Singh and Constable Deepak.
If I don’t get justice, I will go to court
Rohit said that if he does not get justice from the senior officers of Chandigarh Police Department, he will go to court and demand justice. DSP Jaswinder Singh has taken him away after recording his statement.
He has also told them that action should be taken against all of them soon. If such an act was done to a National Youth Awardee, that too in a police station without any fault, then what would happen to the common man. That is why he will fight his battle until he gets justice.
His injuries have not healed properly yet. He is mostly resting at home since that day. After the assault, Rohit’s thumb was broken, there was swelling on the head and face, and he suffered a serious spinal injury.
Had gone to the police post to register a complaint
Victim Rohit told that he and his friend Gobind had reached Hallomajra police post on Saturday evening, where two girls known to him had come to register a complaint of physical abuse against their father.
Rohit alleges that instead of helping the girls, the police started slapping them. When Rohit and his friend appealed to the police to show humanity, the policemen started beating them mercilessly.
People also made videos on their mobile
According to the information, CCTV cameras are installed in the police post too, in which everything is captured. Apart from this, the people present there also made videos on their mobile, in which Rohit is seen lying on the ground in an injured state, while the policemen are present on the spot. Rohit and Gobind allege that the policemen present in the post beat them up. They were in a drunken state and they beat them badly with sticks, kicks and punches.
