Islamabad. After pleading before the US to reduce tension with India, Pakistan has now appealed to friendly Muslim countries. In this sequence, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held separate meetings with Saudi Arabian Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed al-Maliki, UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid al-Zaabi and Kuwaiti Ambassador Nasser Abdulrahman Jasir in Islamabad.

According to the report of ‘Radio Pakistan’, Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s stand for peace and stability in South Asia in these meetings. In a conversation with Ambassador Nawaf, Sharif completely rejected India’s baseless allegations linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident without any proof and reiterated the call for a transparent and impartial international investigation of the incident.
In another meeting, Sharif reiterated his stand and thanked the UAE Ambassador for giving unwavering support to Pakistan. Sharif told the Kuwaiti ambassador that Pakistan has offered the international community a credible, transparent and impartial investigation of the incident.
Chinese ambassador meets Pak PM
The three ambassadors said that their respective countries will work together with Pakistan to maintain regional peace and security. Meanwhile, China’s ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met Prime Minister Sharif in Islamabad. Jiang was quoted in a statement as saying that China understands Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns and supports its efforts to protect national sovereignty and security interests.
China’s support for impartial investigation
He expressed China’s support for a speedy and impartial investigation of the incident and called on both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint, work together, resolve differences properly and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
During this, Sharif appreciated China’s constructive efforts to promote peace and stability in South Asia. Earlier, after the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar had spoken to China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi over the phone.
