Ferozepur. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, tension has once again prevailed between India and Pakistan, but the scene in those first villages of six districts of Punjab bordering Pakistan, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Ferozepur and Fazilka is completely different. There is no fear, no chaos anywhere. Work was seen going on in the fields. Children are going to school on bicycles and discussions are going on about the weather and crops in the village chaupals. People say that even if a war breaks out, they will not leave the village. When BSF is with them, what is the worry.
Villagers talked to the team
The team took stock of the ground reality of the villages of Punjab bordering Pakistan. In the village of Rodawala Khurd (Attari) in Amritsar, everything looked like normal days.
Children were playing in the streets. Farmer Gurdev Singh said that India has installed barbed wires to protect the borders, whereas Pakistanis build mud walls which will collapse with just one punch.
The elderly said – we are not afraid
Wheat has been harvested in the village and the work of making straw is going on. Other elderly said that they are not afraid of any threats. In Kaluwala village of Ferozepur, surrounded by river on three sides, people were seen engaged in farming and women were busy in household chores. The work of making straw has stopped across the border, due to which there is concern about fodder for animals. The elderly want to live in the village, but do not want war. The reason is that those who have seen war before have not forgotten that period till now.
Men are standing with BSF
The villagers of Naushera Dhala village in Tarn Taran have no fear of war, rather they are surprised by the fears of war being spread on the internet media. According to farmer Manjinder Singh Manna and Sarpanch Mangal Singh, 1400 acres of land of six villages including Naushera Dhala is across the barbed wire, where farmers are still farming. If needed, women and children will be sent to a safe place, but men will stand with BSF to protect the village
