Khanna (Ludhiana). Police has busted an interstate drug smuggling and illegal arms supply racket. This racket was being run from Faridkot jail. Police has arrested 11 accused including two prisoners sitting in the jail. Two girls are also included among the accused. SSP Dr. Jyoti Yadav said that on April 25, Jagpreet Singh alias Jagga, Gursewak Singh, Jagroop Singh and Judge Singh were caught with 10 grams of heroin in a Fortuner near Hedon Chowki. All four are residents of Moga and Ferozepur district. Later, a pistol and a magazine were recovered on the information of Jagpreet Singh. The accused were in contact with criminals lodged in jail. During interrogation, Jagpreet Singh told that he used to buy illegal weapons and smuggle heroin for drug supply. Hardeep Singh alias Deepa resident of Ferozepur and Gurlal Singh resident of Karnal (Haryana) were also involved in this work. Hardeep and Gurlal are lodged in Faridkot jail, whom the police have brought on production warrant. After the arrest, interrogation revealed that Prakash Gupta resident of Kharar, Mohammad Yasin resident of Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh), Vanshika Thakur alias Mehak resident of Kharar, Tanu resident of Dharamkot, Lovepreet Singh resident of Gharinda (Amritsar) are also involved in this racket. All of them lived in rented flats in Kharar area of Mohali. Jagpreet Singh used to pay the rent of the flats. This gang used to contact each other through foreign numbers and WhatsApp.

Information about supply was shared through location and after delivering the consignment of drugs, money was transferred through Google Pay. Investigation of bank accounts revealed that there were transactions worth Rs 3 to 9 lakh every month in the accounts of the accused.
