Abohar | Tension arose over the Bharat Mala Highway Project in Seed Farm village of Abohar in Fazilka district. On Monday, officials of farmer organizations also joined the struggle of the occupiers along with the villagers. During this, a heated debate started between farmer leader Sukhmander Singh and DSP Abohar Sukhwinder Singh.
The farmers say that a few days ago they had supported the DSP in a dispute. But today the same DSP is taking action against them. The matter got so bad that a scuffle broke out between the two parties. However, DSP D Balkar Singh intervened in time.
He separated the two parties and calmed the matter. In this way a major dispute could be avoided.
Encroachment removed from Bharat Mala Highway Project
According to the information, the occupiers of Seed Farm were obstructing the road being built from Fazilka bypass to Malot bypass for the last one year. The administration removed encroachment from the seed farm in the presence of more than 400 policemen.
During this time, ambulance and fire brigade vehicles were also present on the spot. The occupiers are sitting on a dharna demanding proper compensation for the land.
Farmer leaders put under house arrest
Before the action, farmer leaders were put under house arrest at 4 am. The action was taken under the leadership of DSP D, SP D, DSP Crime, SDM, CIA 2 Police, City and Khuiyan Sarwar Police of the district.
