Amid Operation Sindoor being run by India against Pakistan, the Haryana government has doubled the amount given to the dependents of martyred soldiers. Now, if the soldiers and officers of the army and paramilitary forces are martyred, their dependents will be given Rs 1 crore.
Till now the government was giving an amount of Rs 50 lakh. The most important thing is that this amount will be given to the families of all the soldiers of Haryana origin, wherever they are living in the country.
Dependents of martyrs will get this benefit from the year 2023
The government has clarified that the revised amount of ex-gratia grant will be given to the soldiers who are casualties in February 2023 or thereafter. An ex-gratia grant of Rs 1 crore will be given to the dependents even in case of accident during duty, heart attack, air accident, accident at sea, death during internal security operations, election duties, natural disasters and casualties during rescue operations.
Wife will get 35% benefit on second marriage
If the wife of the martyr gets married again after the martyrdom of the soldier, then also she will be given 35% of his share. If the martyr has no children, then 50 percent will go to the wife and 50 percent to the parents. If the mother and father are not alive, then 50 percent amount will go to the wife and 50 percent to the children.
If the parents of the unmarried martyr are not alive, then the ex-gratia grant will be paid to his siblings. No other family member or relative will be eligible for ex-gratia grant.
Benefit of the scheme in all military forces
Dependents of martyred Agniveers of Army, Navy, Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Assam Rifles, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Rapid Action Force will come under the purview of this Rs 1 crore benefit scheme of the government.
Agniveer’s family also within its scope
The state government will also give an ex-gratia of one crore rupees to the dependents of the martyr under the Agniveer scheme on the lines of martyred soldiers and paramilitary forces personnel. The government, which has taken a decision in the cabinet meeting on May 5, will soon issue a notification in this regard. At present, there are 6153 Agniveers from Haryana in the Indian Army.
35 lakhs will be given on being disabled
Along with sacrifice while serving in war, terrorist attack, border clashes and United Nations Peacekeeping Force, the benefit of money will also be given on being disabled. Rs 35 lakh will be given on more than 70 percent disability, Rs 25 lakh on 50 to 69 percent disability and Rs 15 lakh on 20 to 49 percent disability.
