A corruption FIR was filed against former Chandigarh Mayor Kuldeep in Crime Branch on 29 January 2025. In the name of investigation, the case has remained confined to papers only. Former Mayor Kuldeep said that all this was a political conspiracy. If any evidence against him was true, he would have been arrested.

But so far in 4 months, the police have interrogated him only twice. Kuldeep said that on the basis of the recording, the Crime Branch has filed an FIR against him. The police should have sent the recording to CFSL and got it investigated. Action was to be taken after confirmation in the investigation, but don’t know what was the hurry.

In this case, Crime Branch DSP Dheeraj said that some data has been sought from the companies, out of which some has come, some is yet to come, the case is under investigation.

Kuldeep said – FIR is false

Kuldeep said that if it has been so long since the case was registered and there is no information about the case till now, then what action is the police taking in this? Whereas the complaint given against him is false. If something had happened, the police would have arrested him. So much time has passed just by citing investigation. If the corruption case is not proved against him, he will file a case in the court for the harassment he faced for so long.

A few hours before the election of the new mayor in Chandigarh, a case of corruption was registered against the current mayor. Chandigarh Crime Branch registered an FIR against Mayor Kuldeep Tita and his brother-in-law Rahul. Both have been accused of taking Rs 75,000 from a person in the name of getting him a job as a sweeper.

This complaint was given against the former mayor

A person named Ravi had given a complaint on the SSP window. According to the victim, Rs 1 lakh was demanded from him in the name of getting him a job on outsourcing in the Municipal Corporation. He paid Rs 75,000 in cash and then Rs 35,000 online. He handed over the entire record to the police, after which the complaint was registered.
