A constable from Haryana committed suicide by shooting himself in the forehead with his service revolver late Thursday night at the Chandigarh Police Complex. At the time the constable committed suicide, he was alone, his wife and son had gone for a walk in the park.
Before shooting himself, he had also played music at high volume. Before committing suicide, the constable put a status on WhatsApp, which read – Every happiness has slept, life has slept. Before this, he had also eaten gol gappas after getting it from his wife.
The constable has been identified as 34-year-old Kailash. The reason why he committed suicide is not yet known. No suicide note was also found from the spot. Now the police is trying to find out what kind of mental stress the deceased was going through. He had done a love marriage against the wishes of his family.

He was a resident of Bhiwani, was recruited as a constable in 2000
According to the police, Kailash was originally a resident of Bhiwani. He was a constable of 2000 batch and was currently posted on security duty at the District Court in Sector-43. Currently, he was living with his wife Amarveer Kaur and 8-year-old son Dakshu in flat number 310 on the sixth floor of Tower number 13 of Police Complex Dhanas.
Returned from duty at 6 pm, had dinner with family
Kailash was posted on VIP duty in the District Court. He did his duty from 8:30 am to 5 pm on Thursday. Reached home at around 6 pm. Due to VIP duty, he was issued a service revolver. He had dinner with family at around 9 pm.
Wife and son went for a walk in the park, neighbor heard the gunshot
According to the police, Kailash was at home at around 9:45 pm. His wife and son went for a walk in the park downstairs. During this time Kailash had put on loud music. Meanwhile, the sound of a gunshot came from his flat. The policeman living in the neighborhood heard the gunshot and went downstairs and informed Kailash’s wife about it.
He was lying on the bed in a bloody condition, service revolver found nearby
On hearing the gunshot, Kailash’s wife immediately reached the flat from the park. When she opened the door and went inside, Kailash was lying on the bed in a bloody condition. His service revolver was lying nearby. He had a bullet wound in his forehead. Seeing this, she raised an alarm and informed the police personnel living nearby.
Declared dead in the hospital, police took the body in custody
On receiving the information, DSP Uday Pal and Sarangpur police station in-charge Harminderjit Singh reached the spot and immediately took Kailash to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. After this, the police took his body into custody and kept it in the postmortem house of PGI. On the other hand, other investigation teams including CFL reached the spot and took the service revolver into custody. They also collected evidence from the spot.
Last status put on mobile before shooting
According to the police, before committing suicide, Kailash put a status on his Whatsapp for the last time. It read- Every happiness has slept, life has slept. It is clear from this message that the constable was under stress, due to which he committed suicide. No suicide note has been found from him.
It was a love marriage, family members were angry
According to the police, initial investigation has revealed that constable Kailash had done a love marriage against the wishes of his family. This love marriage was also done in Chandigarh in 2012. It is being told that his family members were angry with this.
Wife said- Kailash was worried about the whole family
Deceased Kailash’s wife Amar Veer Kaur said that her husband always used to say that he was worried about the whole house. He lived in this tension only. He has five sisters. One is ill, whose treatment he had to get done. He has a brother, whose job he was worried about. Before committing suicide, he had asked for golgappas to eat, which she gave him.
Police is finding out the reasons for suicide
Sarangpur police station’s investigating officer ASI Narveer Singh says that there is no evidence of any kind of fight in the house. Police has not recovered any suicide note from the spot. Police is talking to the policemen living nearby.
