The burden of inflation and rules is going to increase further on the common citizens of Chandigarh. 9 important proposals will be presented in the House meeting of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to be held on June 3. The biggest proposal among them is to increase the booking fee of community centers by 5 times and give them on PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model.
People will have to pay up to 60 thousand rupees for the community center which was booked for 24 thousand rupees till now. This step is being taken in the name of increasing the income of the corporation. But it will have a direct impact on the pockets of the common people.
There is a preparation to give all the community centers of the Municipal Corporation on PPP model. An increase of 3 to 5 times in their rent has been proposed. This proposal was brought earlier in March, but it was postponed without discussion. Now it is being brought again in the House. The special thing is that a uniform rent will be applicable for community centers of all categories, due to which their booking will become difficult for the economically weaker section.
Temporary water connection will be available even outside the red line
The Municipal Corporation has again put forward a proposal in the House to provide temporary water connection to the houses built outside the red line. This time the proposal has been strengthened by citing the decisions of the courts of various states. So that the administration cannot refuse it. This demand was being raised for a long time, but till now the approval of the administration could not be received.
The corporation is now going to tighten the rules of fire safety (Fire NOC). If the fire NOC is not taken within 6 months of applying, the application will be automatically cancelled and re-application will have to be done. This change is being brought so that the applicant takes safety measures on time.
Although the rent is being increased, the facility of free booking of community center for the marriage of girls from economically weaker sections will continue as before. Along with this, senior citizens and resident welfare societies will also be given centers for meetings free of cost.
Pet and Community Dogs Bylaws
Another important agenda in the Municipal Corporation meeting will be about the management of pet and stray dogs in the city. The proposed Chandigarh Pet and Community Dogs Bylaws include several new provisions.
