Amidst preparations to chargesheet 70 officers of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, now a framework has been prepared to chargesheet 108 officers of the Revenue Department.
The file has been sent to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from the office of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goyal for approval to chargesheet the officers.
After the Chief Minister’s approval to chargesheet the officers of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, it will not take long to get approval to chargesheet these officers of the Revenue Department.
Most of the officers of the Revenue Department are accused of corruption. In the internal investigation conducted by the government, everyone’s property has been found to be more than their income. The officers in the Revenue Department who will be chargesheeted include Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, District Revenue Officer and Registry Clerk.
Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department had recently indicated that the government would take action against more than 45 Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars, but after the internal investigation of the department, the number of these officers coming under the purview of action has increased to 108.
Revenue Minister Vipul Goyal has launched an internal campaign to take action against corrupt officers and employees in his departments.
A few months ago, the list of 307 corrupt Patwaris and 404 brokers of his department was made public. This was the first list of corrupt Patwaris and brokers in any department of Haryana Government, after which there was a stir among corrupt officers and employees in various government departments. These corrupt Patwaris also protested across the state. This list was prepared on the basis of the report of the Anti Corruption Bureau.
Later the government said that they do not know where this list came from and how it was released. Strict action continued against internally corrupt patwaris and brokers, after which the second action was taken in the department of Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Chaudhary, where eight superintendent engineers, two chief engineers, 12 executive engineers, 28 sub-divisional officers and 19 junior engineers are going to be chargesheeted.
Section 7-A violated in registries After the irrigation department, the government has again prepared to give a chargesheet against the corrupt officials of the revenue department and has given a strong message to the rest of the departments. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goyal got information that Section 7-A has been ignored.
Section 7-A provides that without the NOC of the District Town Planner, registration of the concerned land will not be done, but no NOC was taken from him. According to government sources, such strict action against corruption can be seen in many other departments soon.
Registry scam is during the Corona period According to the officials of the Revenue Department, this corruption took place in July 2020 during the Corona period. Then the government had constituted a special investigation committee. At that time the revenue minister was the then deputy CM Dushyant Chautala. In the report of that time, 232 revenue officers including 34 tehsildars and naib tehsildars, kanungos, auditors, registry clerks and patwaris were blamed for manipulating the revenue records to facilitate land mafia or real estate agents. Later this list was reduced to 50 officers, but after the final investigation their number has come out to be 108.
