The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Chandigarh Police implicated them in a false NDPS case and tried to extort money by showing fake recovery. During this, the police also tortured them mentally and physically.
These allegations have been made by Rohit Kumar and Vijay alias Vishal alias Buggi, residents of Ram Darbar Phase-1, Chandigarh. During this, advocate Anil Gogna, Rohit and Vijay said that they also have CCTV footage. It has been learned that the inspector of ANTF has also been called and questioned by the SP Crime regarding this matter.
At the same time, the Crime Branch officer said that the matter is being investigated. Criminal cases are already registered against those against whom the FIR was registered.
These allegations were made against the police
According to Rohit Kumar, after the arrest of an old acquaintance named Gautam in an NDPS case on January 5, 2025, ANTF picked him up on January 6 and took him to the police station on the pretext of interrogation. There he was demanded Rs 1 lakh. When he did not pay the money, he was implicated in a false case of 10.30 grams of heroin, which was shown to have been recovered from near the Kalibari temple.
Rohit alleged that the police had already hidden the drugs under bricks and he was forced to lift the bricks in the video recording so that the recovery could be shown as real. He was also threatened with electric shock if he resisted.
These allegations were also made
On March 15, ANTF also picked up Mohit and Vijay. It is alleged that after seizing Rs 53,000 from Vijay’s room, 6 grams of “crack balls” and Rs 35,000 cash were kept under the pillow to show a false recovery.
The entire incident was scripted by the police and a video was shot like a “film scene”, but they did not know that CCTV cameras were installed in the room. The victims have saved this video footage in a pen drive and the DVR is also available.
The police officers who have been accused include Inspector Baldev Kumar, Sub Inspector Mohan Singh, ASI Narinder Pal, ASI Sharandeep Singh, Senior Constable Pradeep Kumar, Constable Neeraj, Head Constable Anil (Belt No. 1649/CP), Head Constable Mangat, Senior Constable Hanuman, Constable Rajneesh, Constable Anil and other policemen who can be identified from the CCTV footage.
