A two-day workshop of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for 12 states including Haryana will be held in Chandigarh. This workshop will be inaugurated today by Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij. Members of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways including Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Delhi and Chandigarh will participate in this workshop.
In the workshop being organized by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, brainstorming will be done among the state representatives to make the online services being provided to the citizens more effective.
That’s why this workshop is being held
Actually, the central government provides online services through the Vahan and Sarathi app of the Transport Department. All the states are also connected to these apps. Now the government is working on providing good upgraded online services to the people through these apps. For this, a two-day workshop of these twelve states has been organized in Chandigarh.
Vahan and Sarathi are two different online portals operated by the Government of India, which are designed to streamline and digitalize transport related services.

What is Vahan App?
– It is a portal that mainly focuses on services related to vehicle registration, permits, taxation, and fitness.
– This portal allows vehicle owners to view details of their vehicles, complete the registration process online, and obtain various types of permits.
– Additionally, using the Vahan portal, users can update their vehicle documents online, transfer ownership, and avail other related services.
What is Sarathi App?
– Sarathi portal focuses on services related to driving license.
– This portal provides services like applying for a driving license, scheduling an exam date, checking driving license status, and license renewal online.
– Through the Sarathi portal, users can also view details of their driving license and upload the required documents online.
