Rahul Gandhi will hold an important meeting regarding Haryana Congress in Delhi today. For this, he has called the central observers posted in 22 districts of Haryana.
In the meeting, Rahul Gandhi will discuss with these observers about the problems of their districts, the factionalism going on in the Congress and the contenders for the post of district president.
Apart from this, he would also like to know whether any leader has put pressure on the observers. There have also been complaints of lack of discipline and mutual fights in some districts, on which Rahul Gandhi will take feedback and can take necessary decisions.
Appointment of central observers for the organization
Rahul Gandhi has entrusted the responsibility to one central observer in every district to complete the selection process of Congress district presidents. Three state observers have been appointed along with the central observers by the Haryana Congress Committee.
Although these state level observers do not have any special role in preparing the panel of Congress district presidents, but by being present with the central observers in the districts, the state observers are giving full report to the bosses.
Panel has to be submitted by June 30
The central observers appointed for all 22 districts of Haryana have visited their respective areas of work once. After the meeting with Rahul Gandhi, their second round of visits will begin. Haryana Congress in-charge BK Hariprasad has instructed all the central observers to prepare a panel of six names each for the district presidents by June 30.
These panels will neither be handed over to the in-charge nor will they be given to any central leader of Congress. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has instructed the central observers to send all the panels to a special mail of the All India Congress Committee.
The in-charges are also visiting the districts
Haryana Congress in-charge BK Hariprasad has confirmed the meeting of the central observers with Rahul Gandhi. The in-charges themselves are also on a tour of the state. The in-charges have so far visited seven districts Nuh, Mahendragarh-Narnaul, Yamunanagar, Jind, Rohtak, Hisar and Panchkula.
The in-charge will visit more than half a dozen districts between June 26 and 30. In terms of monitoring, the command of 12 districts of the state is with co-in-charge Jitendra Baghel, while the monitoring of 10 districts is handled by the second co-in-charge Prafull Gudche.
Decision on state president after district presidents
The Congress has decided that the announcement of the state president will be made only after the selection process of district presidents is completed. During Rahul Gandhi’s Chandigarh visit, there were indications that the name of the state president could be announced before the announcement of district presidents, but the Congress has decided that the names of the district presidents will be announced first, only after that the name of the state president will be decided.
After the announcement of the name of the state president, the Congress high command will consider the name of the leader of the legislative party. The name of the state president will be decided keeping in mind the caste equations.
